ErgoPack is an ergonomical pallet strapping system with a patented chain lance that reduces the potential for back injuries and has been awarded a gold medal for best invention at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva.

Traditional pallet strapping requires the operator to feed the strap under the pallet (often bent over or on his knees) and push/pull it through to the other side where he picks it up to seal it.  Using this method the operator is prone to bending over many times and thereby susceptible to serious back injury.

The revolutionary ErgoPack design allows pallets to be strapped by just one operator and all from one side of the pallet.   The chain lance automatically feeds the strap under the pallet, then vertically up the other side and finally back across the top to the operator.  This automatic feed function eliminates the need for the operator to bend over or walk around the pallet and thus significantly reduces the potential for back injuries etc.

   

For instance, an operator who straps 50 pallets a day working 250 days per annum is forced to bend down at least 50,000 times and walk around the pallet about 25,000 times each year.

Various pallet widths can be handled with the adjustable chain lance feature and because the machine is powered by batteries there are no cables to drag around or get under the wheels of a forklift and up to 400 pallets can be strapped with a fully charged battery.   At just 85 kg and supported by heavy duty rubber wheels the machine can be easily moved and positioned.

The ErgoPack model 720-E has 200kg tensioning force for really heavy duty strapping and the strap is fully guided around the pallet without twisting and turning.  This provides for reliable strapping as every time the strap twists it’s tear resistance is reduced by up to 30%.

The 720-E machine comes complete with electronic drive and joystick control, two batteries, charger, sealing tool and tool lift.   The chain lance is carried by a reversing sledge that is suitable for use on pallets with crossbars and after the strap has been delivered a push of the joystick reverses the chain lance back into the machine.
